Amelanchier lamarckii

Wonderful large vase-shaped shrub or small tree to 6-9m tall.  The leaves are coppery red when young and colour richly in the autumn in shades of yellow, orange and red.  Masses of white flowers cover the plant in April, followed by juicy edible purple fruits. Best in lime-free soil in sun or part shade.
