Acer davidii George Forrest

Snake-bark maple.  A beautiful upright small tree to 8m tall, with red and white striped bark when young, maturing to green and white.  Scarlet young leaves turn dark green and then red and yellow in autumn.  Tolerant of most soils, but not chalk.
