Alnus incana Aurea

Small upright tree with an orange-brown trunk and striking yellow to orange young twigs.  The leaves are yellow in spring, becoming light green.  Conspicuous red-tinted catkins are borne in late winter and early spring.  To 5-10m tall.  Any soil except shallow chalk.
